OUR POLICIES
Please review the policies of our medical clinic. At Duffus Health Centre, we adhere by these policies at all times. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
Length of Appointment
Most appointments are booked to fill a twenty minute time slot. Some appointments like pediatric checkups or immunizations will require a longer appointment time.
Missed Appointments & Cancellations
If you are unable to make your appointment, we ask that you please give us at least 24 hours advanced notice, so other patients have the opportunity to take your time slot. We have a cancellation line that can be accessed 24/7. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged a $30 fee.
Prescription Refills
If you are a patient on long-term medication, your doctor will require you to visit the office periodically to monitor the effect of the medication. Please remember to refill your prescriptions with enough medicine to get you through until your next appointment. There are certain medications that cannot be refilled without first seeing your doctor.
If your medication has run out, and there has not been an appointment booked with your family physician, you can contact your pharmacy to see if they will do a 30 day supply until an appointment with your family physician. Our walk in clinic may also be used to refill everything except narcotics. Refills at the walk-in are given in a 30-day supply and require that you book a follow up appointment with your own family physician. If you are unable to access our walk-in, your family physician, if requested, may provide a written prescription with a 30-day supply, also requiring you to book a follow up appointment, for a fee of $20, due upon pickup of your prescription.
Test Results
If a doctor wishes to speak to you about your test results, a member of our staff will contact you to book an appointment. Test results are not given out over the phone. Please remember that our administrative staff is not qualified to discuss your results with you.
